I’m going to open this guide with a warning: if you have not completed Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers’ main scenario turn away, and turn away now, for here be minor spoilers. Okay, are we good? Cool, cause in this guide I’m going to show you how to unlock Hades Extreme: AKA the harder version of Shadowbringers final boss fight.
The Minstreling Wanderer can be found in the Crystarium.
Head to X7.7, Y:12.5 when your level 80 and have completed the main scenario quest Shadowbringers. He’ll monologue a bit, as he does, and when he is done you’ll unlock access to Hades Extreme. The battle can be accessed like all previous extreme battles within the Duty Finder (it is officially called The Minstrel’s Ballad: Hades’s Elegy). Do bear in mind that you need to be at least at item level 450 to queue for the fight.
Yes, you can use the Party Finder, your free company, or the new fellowships gather a full squad of eight to go in under-geared, seeing as item level restrictions do not apply to full parties, but it’ll be rough going for all involved. I haven’t fought him myself yet, but I’d venture to guess he is akin to other extreme fights: individual deaths will ultimately contribute to full party wipes, and there will be an enrage timer, so maximizing your teams damage up-time will be critical to success.
