Red Dead Redemption 2 How to Call your Horse

Red-Dead-Redemption-2-Screenshots-4

When you’re exploring the open world of Red Dead Redemption 2 there are many times that you’re going to need to get off your horse to get a closer look at things.  It’s quite easy to get separated from your trusty steed, but you can call them back to you by pressing up on the d-pad.

Your horse will not always come to you though.  Depending on the level of horse bonding that you’ve completed with your horse, it will respond from different distances.  The higher your horse bonding the further away you can call your horse.

If you are too far out of range to run to your horse, you can go to any stable to respawn your horse.

When fast travelling by stage coach or by train, your horse will follow you to your destination.  You can call on your horse at any time, but it will only come if its within the range.  If it’s not in range an in-game prompt will tell you.

Your horse doesn’t always come right up to you.  Sometimes it will only come so close.  Just make sure that when you attempt to jump on the horse, that it is yours.  If you jump on someone else’s horse and someone sees it, you will get a wanted bounty level.
